LeBron James is no stranger to NBA prime-time and holiday games, and Christmas will be no exception this year. James and his new team, the Los Angeles Lakers, will face the defending league champion Golden State Warriors on Dec. 25, according to multiple media reports. The game, among several featuring marquee players and teams, will be played in Oakland, Calif. Reports of the holiday lineup came from the New York Times and ESPN. Also reportedly on the holiday menu: The Houston Rockets, who appear on the verge of adding Carmelo Anthony, late of Oklahoma City, to a cast that includes Chris Paul and James Harden, will host the Thunder, with stars Russell Westbrook and Paul George. The Celtics and the Philadelphia 76ers, combatants in last season's Eastern Conference semifinals, won in five games by Boston, reportedly will match up on Christmas. The Milwaukee Bucks haven't played on Christmas since 1977, but they reportedly will face the New York Knicks on the holiday this season. It's too soon to tell whether Knicks All-Star Kristaps Porzingis will be back by then from the torn ACL he sustained in February against the Bucks. Another Christmas Day game reportedly will have the Utah Jazz playing host to the Portland Trail Blazers. --Field Level Media
