LeBron James reveals 'Space Jam' new name, logo
Six years after it was first reported to be in the works, two and a half years after it was officially confirmed and nearly a year after filming began, LeBron James’ much-anticipated “Space Jam” sequel has announced its actual name.
From James’ own Instagram, “Space Jam: A New Legacy” is coming to a theater near you in 2021.
Unfortunately, James may have forgot to mirror his video while announcing the name.
The title seems self-explanatory enough. One great basketball player replacing another in the movie, trying to define his own legacy as fans constantly compare him to his predecessors.
It might be worth noting that James only said “2021” for a release date. The movie was previously announced for release on July 16, 2021, but there is plenty of uncertainty and date changes in the movie industry these days due to the coronavirus pandemic.
A new poster for “Space Jam: A New Legacy” also emerged, featuring James and Bugs Bunny sharing top billing. Funnily enough, it looks like James got his name up first unlike Michael Jordan in the poster of the original “Space Jam.” Interpret that however you will.

“Space Jam: A New Legacy” will reportedly feature NBA stars like James’ teammate Anthony Davis, Klay Thompson and Damian Lillard, as well as WNBA stars Diana Taurasi, Chiney Ogwumike and Nneka Ogwumike.
The production has also seen its original director Terence Nance replaced by comedy veteran Malcolm D. Lee.
