Headlines

Three unbeatens remain

Addison, Hudson and Lenawee Christian remain as Lenawee County's unbeaten teams.

The Panthers had the highest-scoring offense through four weeks, but will probably drop down a little after posting only 38 points against Jonesville. Addison's next three opponents are Homer, Hanover Horton and Springport, who are a combined 2-13.

Provided the Panthers don't trip up against Homer or Hanover Horton, they'll be in the Cascades Conference championship against the East Division champion, which is still a wide-open race between Michigan Center, Napoleon, Manchester and Grass Lake.

Hudson has a tough road to remain perfect, literally, as the Tigers play Blissfield (Week 6), Madison (Week 7) and Clinton (Week 9) on the road and host Dundee (Week 8).

Lenawee Christian will have its biggest test this week when it hosts Division 2 8-Man runners-up, Mendon (5-0) this week. A home game with Pittsford awaits as well in Week 8.

Bryan goes off

When Tecumseh's AJ Bryan scores, he does it in bunches.

For the third time this season, Bryan had at least five touchdowns and Tecumseh is 2-1 in those games.

Despite Tecumseh being 2-3 this season, Bryan has still been impressive with 722 yards rushing and 12 touchdowns while hauling in 12 receptions for 172 yards and three touchdowns.

He also had four tackles with a sack and on special teams, he had 93 kick return yards and 33 punt return yards.

Conference races take shape

The Cascades Conference West Division is Addison's to lose, but who the Panthers will play in the conference title game is anyone's guess. Michigan Center (2-0) and Napoleon (2-0) are leading the way, but Grass Lake (1-1) and Manchester (1-1) are there if the Cardinals and Pirates slip.

While the LCAA is tough, Clinton and Hudson are the top dogs until someone knocks them off. The Redwolves and Tigers are the final unbeatens in the league and another epic Week 9 showdown is looming.

Adrian needs some help in the SEC White after falling to Chelsea, but the Maples can get back in it with a win against Jackson at home this week paired with either Jackson or rival Tecumseh knocking off Chelsea.

If LCS doesn't trip over North Adams Jerome, the Cougars will be playing for a Southern Michigan East Division title at home in Week 8.

Britton Deerfield can get back in the race for the Tri-River race by knocking off Vermontville Maple Valley on homecoming this week. The second Concord game doesn't count toward the league record, so beating Maple Valley will create a three-way tie for first.
