League leaders: Check out Thursday's MetroWest and Milford Fantastic Five HS athletes

These Fantastic Five MetroWest and Milford area athletes were thirsty for a victory Thursday. They led their team to league clinching wins, posted personal bests and kept their teams atop the standings.

Without further delay, here are the Fantastic Five athletes from Thursday, Jan. 25:

NICK BODEN, Lincoln-Sudbury boys alpine skiing

The senior captain tied his career-best finish in fourth, crossing the line in 27.4 seconds to help the Warriors beat Weston, 45-41, and Notre Dame, 56-8, on Thursday. The wins helped Lincoln-Sudbury move into sole possession of first place in the Mass Bay West Ski league. Billy Delahunty took 10th (29.75) for L-S.

AVERIE DENELLE, Tri-County girls indoor track & field

The senior captain took first in three events, as the Cougars defeated Bishop Stang 53-46 on Thursday. She won the 55-meter hurdles in 9.72 seconds, the long jump at 14 feet, 5.75 inches and the high jump (5-4).

MARTY MCCRAVE, Tri-County boys indoor track and field

The junior won the one-mile run in 4 minutes, 43 seconds and the 1,000 in 2:50, both personal bests, Thursday, as the Cougars took down Bishop Stang, 59-41. Tri-County will compete for the Mayflower Athletic Conference Championship on Saturday, Feb. 3.

SARAH POLAND, Lincoln-Sudbury girls basketball

The sophomore led the Warriors with 21 points and grabbed seven rebounds in a 59-39 win over Cambridge Rindge and Latin on Thursday. Junior Evie Schwartz had a double-double with 20 points and 10 rebounds for L-S (8-3, 5-0 Dual County), the Dual County leaders. Warriors sophomore Alice Wallerstein scored 10 points with eight rebounds.

VIRGINIA WEEKS, Lincoln-Sudbury girl alpine skiing

The freshman continued her sterling season with a third-place finish in a slalom at Nashoba Valley on Thursday. She crossed the line in 30.43 seconds. The Warriors (5-0) defeated Weston, 62-24, and Notre Dame, 64-0. Sophie Ward was right behind her in fourth (30.62), while Kenzie Gabel took sixth (31.59). L-S will race Winchester and Lunenberg on Feb. 1 for the regular season league championship.

Boys basketball

NATICK 52, Lincoln-Sudbury 45: Paul Conway scored 15 points with seven rebounds for the Warriors (9-4).
