Lawyer for Cristiano Ronaldo's rape accuser will meet with soccer star's alleged ex-girlfriend

The lawyer for Kathryn Mayorga, the woman who has accused Juventus star Cristiano Ronaldo of raping her in 2009, will travel to London to meet with Ronaldo’s ex-girlfriend Jasmine Lennard.

According to USA Today, Leslie Mark Stovall, Mayorga’s lawyer, will interview Lennard and her lawyer in person, with the goal of obtaining additional information that could help Mayorga’s lawsuit against Ronaldo.

Lennard, a TV personality and model from England, recently shared her story of alleged abuse at the hands of Ronaldo. She made several claims over multiple tweets, including that Ronaldo threatened to kidnap her and have her “body cut up and put in a bag and thrown in a river” if she dated anyone else. Lennard also claims to have audio recordings of some of the threats.

While she was sharing her story on Twitter, Lennard also tweeted that she was willing to assist in Mayorga’s case.

USA Today confirmed with Stovall’s law firm that Stovall spoke to Lennard on the phone, and will be traveling to London for a formal interview.

Ronaldo and his attorneys have denied Mayorga’s 2009 rape allegation, and they’ve also denied all of Lennard’s claims. In fact, Ronaldo says that he doesn’t even know Lennard.

Mr. Ronaldo has no specific recollection of meeting Ms. Lennard 10 years ago or at any point. He has not had a relationship with her and he has not had any contact with her, whether in the last 18 months as Ms. Lennard suggests, or otherwise. The voice notes posted by Ms. Lennard on social media are not of Mr. Ronaldo. Mr. Ronaldo will take appropriate legal action in due course.

Mayorga has accused Ronaldo of raping her in a Las Vegas hotel room in 2009, claiming that he invited her up to his room for a party then forced her to have anal sex with him while she begged him to stop. Mayorga reported the incident to the police the day it happened and had a rape kit done, but she agreed to a $375,000 settlement that required her to sign a non-disclosure agreement. The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department has reopened Mayorga’s rape case, and issued a warrant for Ronaldo’s DNA last week as part of its investigation.
