Lakers vs. Spurs recap: Lakers close on 9-0 run to sweep Spurs

The Los Angeles Lakers are now winners of two straight games following Friday night’s 109-103 win against the San Antonio Spurs, completing a sweep of the two-game set they began in San Antonio on Wednesday. Friday night’s game was much tighter than Wednesday’s meeting, but the Lakers stars delivered in the final minutes, closing the game on a 9-0 run to win a tight road game.

Anthony Davis was excellent all game with 34 points, 11 rebounds and five assists while shooting four of six from the 3-point line. After Friday’s win, Davis has started the season shooting 7 for 15 from the 3-point line in the first five games of the season. LeBron James made three 3-pointers on the night and finished with 26 points, 11 rebounds, and 10 assists.

Without Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, Kyle Kuzma and Wesley Matthews got the call in crunch time for the Lakers with Anthony Davis closing the game out at center. Dennis Schröder made some big defensive plays and finished with 15 points.
