Lady Longhorns have solid showing in OKC

Mar. 26—OKLAHOMA CITY — The Stonewall Lady Longhorns hope to ride the momentum of a successful trip to the 2024 Oklahoma Slow Pitch Showdown into the 2024 Beast of the East Tournament.

The annual mega softball event is scheduled to begin Thursday and run through Saturday. Tupelo will help Stonewall host games on the first day before all the action moves to the two SHS fields for the remainder of the tournament. The 24-team field contains eight teams that earned trips to the state fastpitch tournament last fall.

At the OKC event — hosted by Hall of Fame Stadium — on Saturday, Stonewall pounded Cleveland 17-2 before scooting past Vici 11-8. The Lady Longhorns ended the day with a 19-9 setback to Canute.

Stonewall improved to 4-10 on the season while Canute improved to 5-4, Vici sank to 2-7 and Cleveland left down at 3-11.
