Kyler Murray inactive for Arizona Cardinals' MNF game against San Francisco 49ers

Kyler Murray is inactive for the Arizona Cardinals' "Monday Night Football" game against the San Francisco 49ers the team announced Monday, which means Colt McCoy will take the helm in Mexico City.

The fourth-year quarterback is nursing a hamstring injury and sat out last week's game against the Los Angeles Rams. Colt McCoy led the Cardinals to a 27-17 victory in his absence. The former Texas Longhorns star was 26-of-37 for 238 yards and a touchdown.

Murray is 3-6 so far this year and has 2,168 yards on 240 completed passes for 12 touchdowns and six interceptions. He has added 359 yards and two touchdowns as Arizona's leading rusher.

OPINION: No quarterback controversy for Arizona Cardinals — it's Colt McCoy's job to lose

Last season, McCoy filled in for Murray in a three-game stretch while the Pro Bowler recovered from an ankle injury. His first outing was a 31-17 win over the 49ers where he went 22-of-26 for 249 yards and a touchdown.
