Kobe Bryant’s top 100 games: No. 99

In late March of 2011, the Los Angeles Lakers were starting to play their best basketball of the year after looking complacent and inconsistent over the first half of the schedule.

On March 22, they hosted the Phoenix Suns, and although the Suns were not the same team the Lakers defeated in the previous spring’s Western Conference finals, they still had Steve Nash.

L.A. built a 21-point lead in the third quarter, but Nash’s squad fought back, and before they knew it, both teams were entangled in a triple-overtime thriller.

Luckily, Kobe Bryant was still on top of his game, and his 42 points, 12 rebounds and nine assists allowed the Lakers to eke out a 139-137 win.

Lamar Odom chipped in 29 points, 16 rebounds and five assists, while Nash had 19 points and 20 assists for Phoenix.
