Three things to know about OU women’s gymnastics at Denver

• The Sooners are No. 1 nationally in vault, with a 49.5 average so far. The Sooners are No. 2 in the floor exercise, No. 3 in balance beam and No. 4 in the uneven bars. The vault is also Denver’s top event. The Pioneers (5-2) are No. 7 with a 49.267 average. Jordan Bowers leads the Sooners on vault, with a 9.933 average.

• The Sooners figure to be without Olivia Trautman for their next two meets, but the eight-time NCAA All-American is closing in on a return. Trautman, a fifth-year senior, has battled injuries the last several years but has come on strong late each of the last two seasons to help the Sooners in the postseason. “Looking good,” Sooners coach K.J. Kindler said after Sunday’s win over Utah. “She’s started to do balance beam. She’s doing bars full out. You’ll probably see her in the next three weeks.” Trautman could return for the Feb. 11 Metroplex Challenge in Fort Worth in a more-forgiving podium event. Trautman is not expected to compete in the floor exercise this season.

• In 17 seasons under K.J. Kindler, the Sooners are 89-5 against conference foes in the regular season and Big 12 Championships. Against the league’s current members — Denver, Iowa State and West Virginia — OU is 46-0 under Kindler during the regular season.
