Outlook: The Panthers aim to capitalize on the experience gained last season after some early season injuries. Pitching is expected to be a strength for DeWitt as it returns its top four starters from last spring.

Outlook: The Trojans have a young squad but hope for an improved season. Pendred believes East Lansing has an improved pitching staff and expects it to be better defensively as it strives to be competitive. Baker is a third-year varsity player and was an all-league selection, leading the returners for the Trojans.

EVERETT

Last season: 3-25

Outlook: Sinicropi and Holguin are fourth-year varsity players and Prevo is in his third season on varsity to lead the experience back for the Vikings.

GRAND LEDGE

Outlook: The Wolves have a veteran team led by a pair of fourth-year varsity players in Bonemer and Greborunis and third-year players in Brennan and Colin Walton. Bonemer, a Virginia commit and highly touted draft prospect, is a Virginia commit and a preseason All-American. Presas said Okemos should find plenty of success if it can get key hitting.

WAVERLY

Last season: 17-17, 4-8 (T-5th)

Outlook: Lerma and Arroyo are returning first team all-league selections and are among six starters returning for the Warriors. Sherry said the Warriors have the best pitching staff they've had in his tenure and believes that can help Waverly build on its success from last season and be in the mix for a Diamond Classic bid.

CAAC RED

Outlook: Walker and Thelen are in their second seasons on varsity and lead the returners for the Quakers. Eastern expects Spade, Morse and Stevens to be fixtures in the lineup for Eastern, which has a younger roster that O'Bryant said is growing and developing together.

FOWLERVILLE

Last season: 11-19-1 (4th)

Outlook: Gonzalez is a fourth-year varsity player, while Lukasik and Ray are in their third seasons playing varsity for the Gladiators. Minaudo said Fowlerville had a good mix of veterans and newcomers who will try to help the program to a winning season.

HASLETT

Last season: 4th

Coach: Hudson Whitmore (4th season)

Outlook: Hedden, Wheeler and Fisher earned all-league accolades last season for the Vikings, who hope to break through after coming up short in several close games last spring. Whitmore said Haslett should have improved pitching and a lineup that should be better with the addition of young talent.

MASON

Ball and Armour are returning first team all-league performers for a Mason squad with high expectations. The Bulldogs have plenty of experience and lost just two players to graduation from last season.

ST. JOHNS

Outlook: The Redwings have seven starters back from their league championship squad, which includes a Central Michigan commit in Keilen and their top two starters in Zell and Gregory. Keilen is a fourth-year varsity player. With an experienced core returning, St. Johns is in pursuit of a fourth straight league title and wants to capture a district championship.

WILLIAMSTON

Last season: 23-12-1, 8-2 (T-1st)

Coach: Ryan Orr (2nd season)

Top returners: Aiden Friess (sr.) P/1B/3B, Carter Gulick (sr.) C/3B/2B, Ben Convey (sr.) 3B/P, Richard Cuzydlo (sr.) 1B/2B/P, Brayden Johnson (jr.) SS/P, Hunter VanSickler (so.) OF

Outlook: The Hornets have four college baseball commits in their senior class in Friess (Grand Rapids Community College), Gulick (Grand Rapids Community College), Convey (Santa Barbara Community College) and Cuzydlo (Hope). Orr hopes that core provides leadership for a team he believes can be strong offensively and should have the pitching to be in all games. Williamston hopes to build on its success from last season when it won league and district titles. Making a deeper run in the state tournament after back-to-back seasons of falling in the regional semifinal is a goal for the Hornets.

CAAC WHITE

EATON RAPIDS

Outlook: Nobach and Jonny Stohr were first team all-league performers last season for the Greyhounds. They are among eight returning varsity players for Eaton Rapids, which has its entire pitching staff back. With a seasoned roster that has added talented youth, the Greyhounds will try to contend in the CAAC White.

IONIA

Outlook: Castillo, Barr and McCoy are returning all-league selections and among five starters back for the Bulldogs. Lundstrom said Ionia has pitching depth and should excel offensively.

LAKEWOOD

Outlook: The Vikings expect to be in the mix for a league title as they transition to the CAAC White. The Vikings expect to be led by an experienced core of pitchers.

LANSING CATHOLIC

Lansing Catholic has a mix of veteran leaders and youth and will lean on its pitching depth to keep it in games and help it contend for a CAAC White title.

OLIVET

Outlook: The Eagles lost five strong seniors who are all playing in college from last year’s squad that finished as the Diamond Classic champion but do have a good core of talent back. Aguirre, who has earned all-state accolades, and Wine lead that talent for Olivet, which will try to extend its district title streak to four and challenge for a CAAC White championship.

PORTLAND

Mosley’s left-handed arm and Ream, a fourth-year varsity player, will be key components on the mound for Dansville.

FOWLER

LANSING CHRISTIAN

Outlook: The Pilgrims have eight returning starters and hope the experience combined with an offseason of hard work translates to a successful season. Link is a fourth-year varsity player and Orton, Damesworth, Moore and Kinnas are third-year varsity starters for Lansing Christian. The goals for the Pilgrims are to finish in the upper half of the CMAC in their debut season in the league and to capture a Division 4 district title.

PERRY

Outlook: The Shamrocks expect to be competitive with most teams they face if they remain healthy. Leonard and Scheurer were all-league, district and region selections last season, while Simon earned all-state accolades as a pitcher in 2022 before taking a year off from throwing last spring. Being in the mix for a CMAC title and contending for an invite to the Diamond Classic are goals for St. Patrick.

Outlook: Andrejack (Alma), Vowell (Hope) and Reed (Mid-Michigan Community College) are slated to continue their baseball careers in college and are among the leaders for the Cavaliers. Osika also expects to get contributions from a talented junior class as Corunna chases its first league title since 2006 and aims to make a deep playoff run.
