Kirk Cousins, Adam Thielen have heated conversation on sideline

It was a dicey Sunday in Minnesota. The Vikings needed to beat the Chicago Bears to ensure a playoff berth, and in the first half Minnesota looked anything but competent. That’ll lead to some finger-pointing and, in at least one case, a heated heart-to-heart between quarterback Kirk Cousins and wide receiver Adam Thielen:

Cousins appears to be telling Thielen how to run a route, which is a bold take for a quarterback to offer up. That may be why Thielen seems to wrap up the conversation with a “fine” at the end like a teenager trying to end a lecture.

At another point, Cousins appears to tell Thielen “I don’t have 10 seconds,” meaning Cousins can’t wait for Thielen to get open:

In the first half, Thielen had just one reception on two targets for 9 yards.

The Vikings eventually lost, 24-10, a defeat, with the combination of the Philadelphia Eagles’ victory in Washington, eliminated them from clinching a playoff berth.
