KHSAA softball Seventh and Eighth Region postseason awards, including Players of the Year

Ballard High School’s Brooke Gray and Trimble County’s Emma Ginn have received Player of the Year honors from their respective softball coaches associations.

Gray, a senior pitcher, was named Seventh Region Player of the Year. The University of Louisville signee is 25-0 with a 0.71 ERA and has 264 strikeouts in 157 2/3 innings.

Gray has helped Ballard to a 32-1 record and a No. 1 state ranking entering next week’s state tournament. Her 25 victories are tied for second in the state.

Ginn, a senior catcher/shortstop, was named Eighth Region Player of the Year. The Northern Kentucky University signee batted .638 with 15 home runs and 52 RBIs this season while helping the Raiders to a 21-13 record.

Ginn ranks first in the state in walks (42), fourth in runs scored (68), tied for fifth in home runs and seventh in batting average.

Henry County’s Ally Vaughn was named Eighth Region Coach of the Year.
