KFC's 'seasoned ticket' wing delivery deal sells out within hours of launch

Hours after launching a promotional chicken wing delivery deal, KFC has sold out of "seasoned tickets."

The Louisville-based company announced the promotion Thursday morning, which allowed consumers to receive a delivery of 48 made-to-order Kentucky Fried Wings to their homes every week for 10 weeks.

A seasoned ticket package cost $75, and buyers will receive an extra 48 wings on the 10th week. Wings can be picked up in stores, if preferred.

KFC partnered with ticket marketplace StubHub for this deal and advised potential buyers to go to StubHub.com/KFC. But the link went to a message saying there are no more tickets available.

"No tickets ... now what?" the website reads. "We’re all out of KFC Seasoned Tickets. But you can still follow your chicken wing-based dreams to order.kfc.com."

The company sold 500 tickets in a little less than two hours, KFC spokeswoman Kayla Avery said, noting there are not plans to sell additional tickets at this time.

This promotion comes one week after the fried chicken behemoth unveiled its new Kentucky Fried Wing product, along with free delivery on orders $12 or more through Nov. 24.

Flavors include classic (no sauce), Nashville Hot, Buffalo or Honey BBQ. Outside the seasoned ticket package, the wings start at $5 for six, going all the way up to 48 wings for $36.99.

This year, the National Chicken Council projected Americans would eat more than 1.3 billion chicken wings – just during the Super Bowl.
