Kevin Durant joined exclusive company with Spencer Dinwiddie on Wednesday

Kevin Durant went on a scoring tear when he returned from his seven-day quarantine with Kyrie Irving sidelined for a portion of that stretch and James Harden joining his old Oklahoma City Thunder for a couple games before the trio took the floor together in Cleveland for the first time as Brooklyn’s big three. From his return on January 10 to Monday’s win over the Milwaukee Bucks, Durant scored 30-plus points in four of five games.

But with Irving returning for the game against his old team, Durant was not expected to maintain the level of scoring he’d had recently. Still, the forward was once again the Nets’ leading scoring, scoring 38 points on 12-for-25 shooting (3-for-9 from 3-point territory) and 11-for-13 shooting from the free-throw line.

In doing so, Durant joined Spencer Dinwiddie as the only other Nets player in the Brooklyn era (since 2012-13) to record 30-plus points in three straight games.
