According to a release from the National Bobblehead Hall of Fame and Museum, two limited-edition Kentucky Derby bobbleheads are currently on sale. The first bobblehead is called the "Churchill Downs Twin Spires Bobble," featuring the iconic twin spires and a grandstand filled with fans behind the track.

While the first Derby-goers of 1875 wouldn't recognize the twin spires, they are a long-standing piece of Derby history. Debuting in 1895 as part of a new grandstand, the twin spires were designed to give the simplistic structure a striking contrast. According to the Kentucky Derby Museum, the original plan didn't include the spires along the roof line, and it was an element added by the designer, 24-year-old Joseph Baldez.

Over time, the twin spires have become a revered symbol of the Kentucky Derby. "For 125 years, the Twin Spires have served as the iconic landmark of Churchill Downs. Initially designed and created as simply an addition, these structures have become permanently linked to Churchill Downs and the Kentucky Derby," according to the Kentucky Derby Museum.

The bobblehead, in addition to the two bobbling twin spires and grandstand, has the 150th Kentucky Derby logo on the back and base. It also has a sign above the grandstand with years of the first Kentucky Derby and the 2024 celebration. The price is $40 with an $8 flat-rate shipping charge per order and they will be shipped in August.
