Kenny Golladay bought into Giants’ vision, vows to be difference-maker

Wide receiver Kenny Golladay spent three days visiting with the New York Giants in East Rutherford, which is a true rarity for today’s NFL.

Not only that, Golladay was subject to intense medical examinations at the Hospital for Special Surgery in Manhattan and was made to run through a question-and-answer gauntlet handed down by head coach Joe Judge.

Ultimately, the two sides settled on a massive four-year deal that finally provides the Giants with the type of receiver they’ve been lacking since the days of Plaxico Burress.

Shortly after signing his contract, which was sponsored by Tiffany & Co., Golladay met with reporters and stated very directly that he bought into the Giants’ vision laid out by Judge, offensive coordinator Jason Garrett and the rest of the organization.

“I liked the vision that Coach Joe Judge had and Jason Garrett, as far as the offense, and I was all the way in,” Golladay said. “That had me right there. And just walking around the building, everybody greeting me and with them pretty much telling me that they wanted me here and I’m expressing the same thing. It was kind of like a no-brainer and I’m glad it worked out.”

Golladay immediately felt at home and that will ease the early transition. But when it comes time to work, Golladay is prepared to put those hours in and becomes a difference-maker for the Giants.

“This team is going to get a competitor, a guy who’s going to come in, work, he’s going to try to push other guys and have fun with it. I want to have fun while I’m doing this, that’s what I’m doing it for. Just a playmaker,” Golladay said.

“I know one thing for sure. I’m going to go out there and do all I can to help this offense go. Whenever they need me, I’m going to be there to pretty much make a play.”

Right out of the gate, Golladay has taken the correct approach and has provided a breath of fresh air for an organization and fan base that desperately needed it.
