Kelly Coates, Gus Steiger, Jordon Johnson and Rhett Florey each receive honor

MITCHELL — Kelly Coates and Gus Steiger of Aberdeen Circus Sports Bar, Jordon Johnson of the Lake Norden Lakers and Rhett Florey of the Clark Traders have been named to the Class A and B all-tournament teams from the 2023 South Dakota State Amateur Baseball Tournament.

Coates and Steiger, a pickup player from the Castlewood Ravens, each were named to the Class A honor squad. Johnson and Florey made the Class B team.

Other Class A All-Tourney

Batting champion Sam Baier, hustle award winner Sam Siegel, MVP Bryce Ahrendt and TJ Miller of the state champion Sioux Falls Brewers made the team along with Ryan Hander, Mitch Stroh and Tyler Peyton from the runner-up Renner Monarchs.

Other selections include Jon Wilhelmsen, Seth Peterson and Zach Dibble of the Sioux Falls Flying Squirrels; Chase McDaniel, Jackson Krogman and Noel Burgos of the Brookings Cubs; Will Rauch and Sam Schonberg of the Yankton Trappers; and Jesse Riddle of the Rapid City Diamondbacks.

Other Class B All-Tourney

MVP Kendall Gassman, Cole Gassman and Trey Krier of the state champion Canova Gang spearhead the honor squad along with Michael Drotzmann, Tanner Van Driel and Alex Wagner of the runner-up Lesterville Broncs.

The team also includes batting champion Riley Rothschadl and Chase Kortan of the Tabor Bluebirds; Brayden Pankonen and Trey Randel of Dell Rapids PBR; Brent Ripperda, Micah Linn and Isaac Horigan of the Larchwood (Iowa) Diamonds; Derek Graesser of the Winner-Colome Pheasants; Jason Schmidt and Josh Engquist of the Dimock-Emery Raptors; Aspen Dahl of the Madison Broncos; Zak Wallner of the Kimball-White Lake Nationals; Dustin Livingston of the Menno Mad Frogs; Koby Larson and Spencer Neugebauer of the Mount Vernon Mustangs; Chad Hunt and Dalton Lehnen of the Dell Rapids Mudcats; and Drew Sweeter and JD Kirchner of the Lennox Only One Alpacas.
