Kay Adams leaving NFL Network, reportedly eyes top studio job at Amazon
A familiar face is leaving NFL Network with her eyes set on one of the top openings in NFL broadcasting.
"Good Morning Football” co-host Kay Adams is on her way out and is a candidate to host Amazon's upcoming "Thursday Night Football" pregame show, Andrew Marchand of the New York Post reports.
Adams has co-hosted the three-hour morning show on weekdays since 2016. With Amazon taking over streaming rights to "Thursday Night Football" broadcasts in the fall, Adams could be the latest prominent name in NFL media to change teams.
Amazon already has its game booth set with Al Michaels leaving NBC to call play-by-play and ESPN's Kirk Herbsreit handling color analyst duties. Herbstreit will maintain his role covering college football for ESPN. The stream hasn't yet set its pregame show, which is where Adams comes into play.
Per Marchand, the pregame show will travel onsite to each game, and Adams is a leading candidate to host. But no deal has been made, per the report, and Amazon has not publicly addressed any discussions with Adams. NFL Network declined to address the specifics of Adams' situation in a comment to Marchand.
“Kay has been a big part of the success of Good Morning Football, and we hope to keep her in the NFL Media family for years to come,” NFL Media representative Alex Riethmiller told The Post in a statement.
