Kawhi Leonard, Spurs beat Nuggets, 99-91

Kawhi Leonard scored 18 and the San Antonio Spurs took down the Denver Nuggets, 99-91. San Antonio (17-7) has now won seven of their last 10 games.

Leonard went 6-14 and converted 6-6 from the free throw line. Other top contributors for San Antonio included Tim Duncan with 15 points and nine rebounds, Manu Ginobili with 15 points and six assists, and Tiago Splitter with 11 points and six rebounds. Arron Afflalo had another big game for Denver in the loss, putting up 31 points on 12-20 shooting, including 4-6 from behind the arc. Jusuf Nurkic contributed 10 points and eight rebounds.

The Nuggets had 20 assists against 21 turnovers for a ratio of .95. This year, they are winless (0-3) when having more turnovers than assists in a game. Conversely, the Spurs are 1-1 when holding their opponents below an assist-to-turnover ratio of 1.00.

Denver (10-14) has now lost back-to-back games after falling to Houston on Saturday.
