Karl Dorrell preaching confidence to start fall camp

The 2022 season is expected to be another rough one for the Colorado Buffaloes. Not only did the Pac-12 get stronger all around, but the Buffs lost a long list of players via the transfer portal.

SuperWest Sports has the Buffs winning just a few games this season, and that’s about right with the difficult schedule they have. The Buffs were also picked to finish last in the Pac-12 by the media.

Nonetheless, head coach Karl Dorrell is encouraging his team in any way possible, and hopefully the Buffs can surprise some people this season. Here’s what Dorrell told his team prior to CU’s first fall practice on Tuesday:

“We’re going to win this year,” Dorrell said. “We’re ready to win… You’ve worked hard (and) trained to win this year.”

Dorrell also mentioned that he’s confident CU will break above .500 this year.

Now, Dorrell was speaking from his past experiences, but this is at least a sign of encouragement from the head coach. It might be a rough year for the Buffs, but frankly, you never know what happens on any given Saturday.

The Buffs could stun the world and flip everybody upside down. While it’s not entirely likely, that’s why you play the games. Let’s see if Dorrell’s veteran leadership can pay off for this Buffs squad.
