Julio Jones on future with Falcons: ‘I’m out of there’

Live television can create some interesting moments when things go off script. That’s apparently what happened on FS1’s Undisputed program on Monday when co-host Shannon Sharpe called Falcons wide receiver Julio Jones live on the air.

After a picture of Jones in a Cowboys sweatshirt circulated on Twitter, Sharpe called Jones to get some clarification.

It’s unclear whether the All-Pro receiver knew he was on live TV, but when asked about his future in Atlanta, Jones said it was all but over. “Oh, man, I’m out of there,” he responded.

It’s something you really had to see to understand how bizarre it was. Check the moment out below, as shared by @MySportsUpdate on Twitter.

Jones is almost certainly on his way out due to Atlanta’s lack of salary cap funds, but he has to be traded after June 1 in order to clear roughly $15 million from the cap.

The Falcons haven’t yet signed their rookie draft class, so the team may have no choice but to deal Jones to make room. A seven-time Pro Bowler and two-time All-Pro, Jones said he’d like to get traded to a contender.

Here are seven possible destinations for Jones that would make sense financially.
