Josh Norman and Michael Thomas start a beef that spills over to Twitter
With everything else going on Monday night, you probably didn’t notice the one-on-one matchups between New Orleans Saints receiver Michael Thomas and Washington Redskins cornerback Josh Norman.
But they sure noticed, and were keeping track.
The Saints blew out the Redskins on a night that will be remembered for Drew Brees setting the all-time passing yardage record. Thomas, who was off to a historic start through three games, had a quiet four-catch, 74-yard performance. The Saints won big and the offense was great, so no big deal.
But Norman and Thomas were talking through the game, and the typically talkative Norman didn’t even want to address it after the game.
Josh Norman on Michael Thomas: “I would not waste by breath”
Norman was asked about the trash talking between him and Thomas and it actually looked like he was flustered a bit.
“That guy, pshhhhhh. Oh my gosh, that guy,” Norman told reporters. “To speak on him, I would not waste my breath. I’m sorry. Would not. He’s not worthy of it. He never will be worthy of it.”

And Thomas heard about it, because he ended up speaking about it on Twitter.
Thomas had plenty to say on Twitter
When a guy’s Twitter handle is “Can’t Guard Mike,” you know he doesn’t have a self-confidence issue. Here are his responses to Norman’s tweets, some of which were deleted (and mostly were calling Thomas a blocking decoy):

It has been a while since Norman started a rivalry with another receiver. Too bad the Saints and Redskins don’t play in the same division.
