John Paul “Juni” Mobley Jr., one of the most prolific scorers in the Nike EYBL Scholastic league, has confirmed his commitment to Ohio State for the 2024 class.

A Columbus native playing for Mt. Pleasant (Utah) Wasatch Academy, Mobley signed with the Buckeyes in November and averaged 19.9 points and 5.0 assists in league play. He committed to Ohio State after being recruited by coach Chris Holtmann and associate head coach Jake Diebler, and he maintained that commitment when Holtmann was fired in February while waiting to see who would be named the full-time coach.

Sunday, the Buckeyes announced that Diebler had been promoted from interim to full-time status. Also Sunday, Mobley and his family met with Diebler at Ohio State and reaffirmed the commitment to play for the Buckeyes in 2024.

Mobley is a four-star prospect in the class ranked No. 41 nationally and the No. 6 combo guard according to the 247Sports.com composite rankings.

His commitment means both players to sign for Ohio State in 2024 will remain with the program after Diebler was promoted to head coach. Colin White, a three-star forward from Ottawa (Ohio) Ottawa-Glandorf, will also stick with his plan to play for the Buckeyes.
