John Johnson III injures neck, out for game

The Cleveland Browns are locked in a tight game with the Pittsburgh Steelers on Halloween. Tied 3 – 3 going into the second half, the Browns already lost Jack Conklin for the game with an elbow injury.

As the second half began, news came down that safety John Johnson III was questionable to return with a neck injury. Moments later came the announcement from the team that Johnson was out for the remainder of the game.

Johnson has combined for four tackles in the game before going out. Cleveland’s big free-agent addition had a big game in Week 7 against the Denver Broncos with an interception and key stops.

In his place, second-year man Grant Delpit, who missed all of his rookie year will likely get more snaps.

Johnson had been the team’s defensive play-caller for the past few weeks but that role will likely go back to linebacker Anthony Walker who started the season with that job.
