Major League Baseball spring training is under way, without Joey Votto.

And the free-agent first baseman who has played his entire Major League Baseball career for the Cincinnati Reds and led the league seven times in on-base percentage suggested in a video he posted that he would rather be at camp than the car wash.

In the video, Votto passed through the car wash and said, "This is not spring training."

Votto tweeted Sunday about the kind messages he received after posting the video:

Tweet from @MLBONFOX about the video:

The Enquirer's Gordon Wittenmyer wrote earlier this week about "the influence of a franchise icon and clubhouse anchor who invested so much time and experience in this young Reds core."

Votto attended the NHL All-Star Game in his hometown of Toronto earlier this month, with a goal of getting a selfie with each team's mascot.
