Cincinnati Bengals fans can thank a basketball player named Dot Ford from Smithville, Mississippi, for at least some of Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow's athletic ability.

A feature by Mississippi Today's Rick Cleveland about the Mississippi high school basketball legend and mother of Jimmy Burrow, Joe's dad, was shared by the Cincinnati QB on Twitter/X.

As the story mentions, Dot Ford Burrow was announced earlier this week as one of four former athletes and four coaches to be inducted into the National High School Hall of Fame's class of 2024 in Indianapolis.

"My grandmother was an incredible athlete and a generational basketball player," Joe Burrow said, per Cleveland, "and is arguably the best athlete in the family. Knowing how great she was has motivated me to be the best I could be in all sports."

Former Bengals linebacker Takeo Spikes also is among the induction class.
