Jimmies softball sweep Minot State in doubleheader

Feb. 13—JAMESTOWN — The University of Jamestown softball team did enough at the dish to get a 4-2 win over Minot State University in the first game of a doubleheader on Tuesday, Feb. 13, at the Nelson Family Bubble.

The Beavers opened the scoring in the top of the first before the Jimmies put two runs up in the bottom of the frame on three hits to take a 2-1 lead. The Jimmies pushed the lead out more in the second when Mackenzie Lefebvre rocketed one over the wall in left to give the team the 4-1 lead.

The Beavers were able to cut into it with a long ball of their own when Abby Loshe smoked one over the wall in center to cut the deficit to 4-2 in the third inning.
