Jets Blasted by Chargers, 31-0
The Jets turned it over two times, managed only 151 yards of offense and were pounded by the Chargers, 31-0, in San Diego.
Michael Vick couldn't reach the end zone as he went 8 for 19 passing for only 47 yards and no interceptions. Philip Rivers put up better numbers for the Chargers, and ended up going 20 of 28 with 288 yards through the air, three touchdowns and one pick.
Chris Ivory rushed for 44 yards on nine carries. Jace Amaro caught three passes for 19 yards.
The New York defense surrendered 162 yards rushing and 288 passing. They sacked Rivers three times.
Chargers running back Branden Oliver had a big game, putting up 114 yards rushing, 68 receiving and two touchdowns. Tight end Antonio Gates was also solid with 60 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Next week, the Jets host the Broncos (3-1) while the Chargers head to Oakland to face the Raiders (0-4).
