Jeong Yeong Lee critical of performance at UFC Fight Night 235

LAS VEGAS – Jung Gyeong Lee beat Blake Bilder with a unanimous decision Saturday on the preliminary card at UFC Fight Night 235 at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas.

Updated records: Lee (11-1 MMA, 2-0 UFC), Bilder (8-2-1 MMA, 1-2 UFC)
Key stats: Lee stuffed all three of Bilder’s takedown attempts and landed two takedowns of his own. He also more than doubled up on Bilder in total strikes landed.

“He was a lot more durable than I thought he would be, and I’m thankful for him giving me a really good fight.”

Lee on falling short of his standards

“It was about 50 percent of what I was envisioning, so I’m going to work hard to fill that up for next time. My wrestling and my striking, my grappling and all of that (weren’t up to my standards).”

Lee on what he wants next

“This year, my goal is to get three straight wins. It doesn’t matter who it is, it just has to be someone that could throw a barnburner with me. … I’m just getting started. I want to fight on the big stages and show how tough and how good an Asian fighter can be.”
