Donovan Holcombe, a freshman from Tomball, Texas (Concordia Lutheran), logged a double-double to help the Jacksonville College Jaguars to a 72-70 decision over the visiting Dallas College-Cedar Valley Suns Saturday evening in Jacksonville.

Holcombe poured in 15 points to go along with 11 rebounds. He connected on 7-of-13 field goal attempts.

Shreveport, La. freshman FredTravious Benjamin erupted for 14 points, four steals, three assists and two rebounds. Benjamin prepped at Green Oaks High School.

The Jaguars' Nehemiah Ratliff, (Missouri City, Texas-Madison, High School) added 10 points, passed out six assists and pitched in four rebounds.

JC outscored Cedar Valley 36-35 in each half.

The JC men (1-1) will continue the home stand at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday by entertaining Strength-N-Motion.
