About the Jaguars

  • The Jags are playing on Sunday night for the first time since Oct. 5, 2008, when they lost to Pittsburgh 26-21. The Jaguars are 5-6 on Sunday night and 4-4 at home. Coach Doug Pederson, with the Jaguars and Eagles, is 8-2 in home December games.

  • Tight end Evan Engram has 84 receptions for 701 yards, second in receptions in the NFL this season to T.J. Hockenson by one and trailing only Travis Kelce in yards (Kelce has 896). He now has the first and third-best seasons for a Jaguars tight end in yards.

  • Outside linebacker Josh Allen needs one more sack to tie Calais Campbell for the Jaguars single-season record of 14.5.

About the Ravens

  • Quarterback Lamar Jackson led the Ravens with 70 rushing yards last week, the fifth time this season. He has led the Ravens in rushing in 36 career games, tied with Randall Cunningham for the second-most by a quarterback in the Super Bowl era. Only Cam Newton (42) has more.

  • The Ravens had nine scenarios where they could clinch a playoff berth with a victory and a combination of other results around the AFC. Four of the scenarios required Denver to have lost to Detroit on Saturday and three require Buffalo to lose to Dallas.

  • Defensive tackle Justin Madubuike had a season-high seven tackles and a sack last week against the Rams and is only the third player in the last 10 seasons in the NFL to have at least a half-sack in 10 consecutive games. He already has a career-high 11 sacks this season.

Key Matchup

Baltimore QB Lamar Jackson vs. Jaguars LB Foye Olukun

As usual, the issue when facing the Ravens is Jackson on planned runs, but he's more dangerous when going off-script. Jackson leads the Ravens in rushing with 664 yards and has five touchdowns and last season was Baltimore's leading rusher against the Jaguars with 89 yards.

Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jenkins (8) throws on the run ahead of Jaguars outside linebacker Josh Allen during last year's game in Jacksonville.

Oluokun has returned to the spot he’s held for most of the last three seasons as the NFL’s leading tackler and he will play a key role in controlling the damage Jackson can do when he tucks the ball away and runs.

In last year’s game against the Jaguars, Jackson led the Ravens in rushing with 89 yards. The only two tackles on designed runs where he was held to no gain or lost yardage were made by Oluokun.
