Jaguars TE Evan Engram named to 2024 Pro Bowl Games with Travis Kelce headed to Super Bowl

Evan Engram is a Pro Bowl tight end ... again.

Though he didn't make the initial list of players headed to Orlando this year for the NFL's Pro Bowl Games, Engram made the list Tuesday morning as an alternate. Engram becomes the first Jaguars tight end since Marcedes Lewis to make the Pro Bowl (2010). He and Lewis are the only Jags tight ends to make it to the event.

Engram made the Pro Bowl in 2020 as a member of the New York Giants.

Engram is joining outside linebacker Josh Allen and long snapper Ross Matiscik as the Jaguars' representatives to make the event.

Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce will not be attending after the Chiefs won the AFC Championship game against the Baltimore Ravens last week.

The Super Bowl might take a bit of precedence over the Pro Bowl.

After being signed by the team during the 2022 offseason, Engram competed on a one-year contract, accounting for 73 catches for 766 yards and four touchdowns. As a result, the Pro Bowl tight end was awarded a three-year deal worth $41.25 million with $24 million fully guaranteed.

In 2023, Engram quickly became the go-to option for quarterback Trevor Lawrence, catching 114 passes for 963 yards and four touchdowns. He came just two catches short of the team's franchise record for receptions. He led all tight ends this year in receptions and finished fourth overall in receptions among all pass catchers.

Engram currently holds the franchise record for receptions (114) and yards (963) by a tight end. He set the franchise records last season with 73 receptions and 766 yards.

Including Engram, only nine tight ends in NFL history have caught 100 or more passes in a single season. That list includes Engram, Zach Ertz (116, Eagles), Travis Kelce (110, Chiefs), Jason Witten (110, Cowboys), Mark Andrews (107, Ravens), Darren Waller (107, Raiders), Tony Gonzalez (102, Chiefs), Dallas Clark (100, Colts) and Lionel Taylor (100, Broncos, pre-Super-Bowl era).

Only Engram and Ertz have caught more than 110 passes in a single season.

Since being drafted in the first round of the 2017 NFL Draft, Engram has accounted for 449 catches for 4,557 yards and 24 touchdowns.
