Myles Cole scouting report

Cole, a native of Shreveport, La., is a freakish athlete with good speed for his size. He had the longest arm length of any player measured at the NFL Combine (36, 7/8 inches) and the longest wingspan (86 inches) and was clocked in practice once running full speed at 20.3 mph.

Like fourth-round draft pick Javon Foster, Cole is an older player and will turn 24 years old on Monday. He has a Kinesiology degree from Louisiana-Monroe and is working on a Master's degree in interdisciplinary studies at Texas Tech. He is one of 10 children and had two cousins, Cris and Melvin Jones, who played at LSU.

Cole will be a project and his skills in setting the edge and pass-rush moves were described by The Beast, a draft guide, as "immature." But his length and lateral speed can make him effective in special teams until he grows into a defensive position. He was a good enough athlete to play soccer, basketball and track in high school, along with football.
