Jaguars HC Doug Pederson provides update on LT Cam Robinson's left knee injury

The Jacksonville Jaguars have placed OL Cam Robinson on the Reserve/Injured list and have signed OL Chandler Brewer from the practice squad to the active roster, the team announced late Monday.

Jaguars head coach Doug Pederson said Monday that Robinson suffered an injury to his left knee, which cost him all but 12 snaps in the team's win over the Houston Texans on Sunday.

Additionally, the team has signed OL Keaton Sutherland and OL Jimmy Murray to the practice squad.

According to a report by NFL insider Ian Rappaport, "Sources say (Robinson) has a recovery time of 3-6 weeks. That makes him an Injured Reserve candidate, but barring a setback, he is expected back for the playoffs."

The Jaguars will host the Cincinnati Bengals on Monday Night Football next week and will trot out yet another different offensive line lineup.

Robinson suffered a meniscus injury to his right knee last season in Week 15 against the Dallas Cowboys, costing him the remainder of the 2022 season, including the playoffs. Robinson tore his ACL in his left knee just two games into the 2018 season, his second year in the league.

The seventh-year tackle went to the ground, clearly in pain before trainers rushed over to assist him. He slammed his helmet onto the ground as he made his way to the team's blue medical tent for further evaluation. Later in the game, Robinson was seen on the Jaguars' sideline sporting what appeared to be a brace on the injured knee.

He was seen in tears on the CBS broadcast, something Pederson said is to be expected when a player realizes he can no longer participate in the competition.

"It's such an emotional sport and he's been a big impact," Pederson said when asked about Robinson's emotions on the sideline. "What he's gone through this year, and then getting the news that he probably couldn't return back to the game, or at least try to come back into the football game, I just think it was just an overwhelming emotional experience for him."

Robinson missed the first four games of the season after being suspended by the league, found in violation of the league's Performance Enhancing Drugs policy. Something he said in the offseason was "nerve-wracking."

In Robinson's place, Jaguars third-year offensive lineman Walker Little slid over from his starting left guard spot back into his natural position at left tackle. Newly acquired guard Ezra Cleveland filled in for Little. The offensive line did not surrender a single sack, something Pederson praised the group for after the game.

“Quarterbacks feel comfortable when they're getting protection, so my hats off to the offensive line. When Cam [Robinson] went down we had to shuffle Walker [Little] out and Ezra [Cleveland] coming in," said Pederson.

It was the third time this season that Lawrence was not sacked. He stayed upright all game against the New Orleans Saints in Week 7 and against the Texans in Week 3.

"Proud of those two guys for taking on that role, and they did a great job, and really the whole offensive line did a great job keeping Trevor [Lawrence] clean and upright and to have the type of day that Trevor did [Sunday]."

If Robinson cannot go, Little and Cleveland remain in the lineup as they were during the team's win over Houston.
