Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp release 2024 Triple-A baseball schedule: See who's on deck
The playoff chase is in full swing for 2023, but the Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp already have one eye looking toward 2024.
The Jumbo Shrimp announced their schedule Tuesday for the club's third season in the Triple-A International League, including 75 home games for the 2024 season.
Here's what Jacksonville's baseball fans need to know.
When does the 2024 Jumbo Shrimp season begin and end?
The new year is set to begin on Friday, March 29, in a Florida-Georgia contest against the Gwinnett Stripers. The final series will conclude Sunday, Sept. 22, also against Gwinnett. The 2024 promotional schedule remains to be determined, although the 2023 version included multiple offbeat celebrations.
What teams are visiting Jacksonville for the first time?
The Jumbo Shrimp, the Triple-A affiliates of the Miami Marlins, will have their first-ever home meetings against Scranton/Wilkes-Barre (April 30 to May 5) and Indianapolis (June 11 to June 16).
Meanwhile, the Jumbo Shrimp will make their first-ever road trips to Omaha from May 7-12 and Toledo from August 6-11.
How is the 2024 Triple-A baseball schedule structured?
As in 2023, most of the Jumbo Shrimp's series will begin on Tuesdays and end on Sundays, with Mondays off except for Monday, July 1. Most series will be six games, with the exceptions of March 29-31 vs. Gwinnett, July 1-3 vs. Charlotte and July 19-21 vs. Durham.
Charlotte is the most frequent opponent with 24 games, followed by 21 games against Gwinnett and 18 each against Memphis, Nashville and Norfolk.
