Islanders announce 2023-24 regular season schedule, including six home games in October

New York Islanders celebrate the goal by New York Islanders left wing Anders Lee (27) against the Philadelphia Flyers during the first period at UBS Arena

The Islanders announced their schedule for the 2023-24 regular season on Tuesday afternoon, starting things off with a home matchup against the Buffalo Sabres on Oct. 14.

That will be the first of six games at UBS Arena during the opening month of the season. The Islanders' first road game will be in Buffalo against the Sabres on Oct. 21.

Other highlights from the schedule include 13 weekend home games, with a handful of afternoon matchup's sprinkled in during the second half.

And of course, the biggest highlight of them all has already been announced. The Islanders will play host to the crosstown rival Rangers in a Stadium Series game at MetLife Stadium on Feb. 17, the first ever outdoor NHL game in New Jersey.

The Islanders will face off with the Rangers and Devils three times over the final five games of the season, which could make for some interesting matchups if all three teams are in the fight for a playoff spot.
