Ingomar holds on late to capture 2A title
Mar. 1—JACKSON — As Bogue Chitto's potential game-winning 3-pointer hung in the air for what felt like an eternity, Ingomar head coach Jonathan Ashley had flashbacks of Ingomar's heartbreaker in the title game three years ago. The Falcons lost that game to Biggersville on a three at the buzzer from roughly the exact same spot on the Mississippi Coliseum floor.
But this time, the ball clanked off the rim, the buzzer sounded and Ingomar could celebrate a Class 2A state title with a 48-46 win over Bogue Chitto on Friday. Ingomar trailed for most of the game, but the Falcons came back in the fourth quarter and won it late.
