IMSA testing underway at Daytona International Speedway. Which teams, drivers are taking part?

DAYTONA BEACH — A four-day IMSA test ahead of January’s Rolex 24 began at Daytona International Speedway on Wednesday morning with over 40 teams across four of the event’s classes set to take to the track this week.

It will mark the second year for the LMDh-spec cars in the Grand Touring Prototype (GTP) class, with last year’s event being won by the Meyer Shank Racing Acura team. This year, Wayne Taylor Racing will field both Acura entries in the GTP field. Also, of note amongst the GTPs is the American debut of the Iron Lynx Lamborghini, which will run in this year’s Rolex 24.

Nine GTP entries took to the track on Wednesday with morning and afternoon sessions featuring only GTP and LMP2 cars. The prototypes were also slated to wrap up testing on Thursday, with GTD Pro and GTD cars beginning their runs on Thursday and continuing Friday and Saturday.
