IHSAA volleyball: See who made 2023 ALL-USA Central Indiana Super Team

The 2023 Indiana high school volleyball season is in the books.

Meet this year's ALL-USA Central Indiana volleyball Super Team, honoring the best of the best from around the area. Players were selected based on coach nominations and comments, individual statistics and team performance.

FIRST TEAM

Logan Bell, Roncalli

Jr., 5-11, OH

The Oregon commit took her game to another level this season and in doing so, led the Royals to a 30-4 finish that culminated with their second regional championship since 2021.

Bell notched a season-high 20 kills in a four-set win over Cathedral at the end of August, then closed out her junior campaign by accumulating 10-plus kills over her final 11 matches. That streak included an impressive 23-kill, 11-dig, three-block showing vs. Yorktown in the regional championship match, and 19 kills and 13 digs vs. Class 4A runner-up Castle in semistate.

Bell finished the season with 409 kills (.268 hitting percentage), 35 aces, 223 digs and 82 blocks. She is on track to graduate with over 1,000 kills and 1,000 digs for her career.

Raegan Durbin, Western Boone

Jr., 5-10, OH

Durbin played in 29 matches this season. She logged at least 20 kills in 16 of them and cleared 30 kills in five of them. She set a career-high with 36 kills vs. Danville on Sept. 5, then cleared that total with a 39-kill performance (.267 hit percentage) vs. Lebanon. Durbin, who totaled 35 kills in the regular-season finale vs. Plainfield, scored 25 terminations and hit .340 in a four-set loss to Tri-West in the sectional championship match.

The Middle Tennessee commit hit .381 for the season with 623 kills, plus 56 aces, 28 total blocks (20 solo), 223 digs and 11 assists.

Durbin enters her senior season with exactly 1,300 career kills and a .377 hit%.

Lauren Harden, Hamilton Southeastern

Sr., 6-3, OH

Just the second player in program history to clear 1,000 career digs, Harden surpassed Hayden Huybers as HSE's all-time kills leader in late September before helping the Royals become the fourth undefeated Class 4A state champion in state history. The Florida-bound standout closed out her career with 13 kills in the state final vs. Castle, leaving her with 1,250 over her four-year career.

Harden's final season line included a career-high 371 kills, 21 aces, 36 total blocks (14 solo) and 161 digs.

In addition to her record-setting kill total, she also accumulated 84 aces, 178 total blocks and 546 digs.

Macy Hinshaw, Hamilton Southeastern

Sr., 5-9, S

Hinshaw shined at the helm of one of the best offenses in the country, accumulating 633 assists with only five ball-handling errors over her 98 sets played, plus 30 aces and 190 digs. The Santa Clara commit worked in tandem with junior Loyola Chicago commit Ava Hunter, registering at least 20 assists in 16 matches. She closed out her high school career with a career-high 38 assists, 16 digs and three kills in the 4A final vs. Castle.

Hinshaw totaled 1,864 assists, 89 aces and 653 digs over her three varsity seasons.

Sophie Ledbetter, Hamilton Southeastern

With 17 digs in her final high school match, Ledbetter cleared the 1,000 dig mark for her career, an impressive milestone considering it was only her second full season at the position. The Ball State commit grew into the position after making the move from outside hitter as a junior, and had established herself among the state's best liberos by season's end. She maintained that momentum as a senior, totaling 26 aces and 417 digs with 20 errors on over 430 receptions.

Ledbetter cleared 20 digs in seven matches, with a season-high 24 against both Roncalli and Noblesville (against whom she also registered four aces).

Taylor Lewis, Cathedral

Sr., 6-1, OH

A six-rotation attacker and vital leader for the sectional champion Fighting Irish, Lewis posted a team-high 394 kills (.269 hitting percentage), 258 digs (second most) and 50 aces (tied for the team lead), with zero errors on 207 receptions and 19 assists (third most).

Lewis shined in the state tournament. She totaled 42 kills, five aces and 26 digs between the final two rounds of sectionals (Lawrence North and North Central), then posting a season-high 27 terminations on .292 hitting, 18 digs and an ace in a five-set loss to Yorktown in the regional semifinals.

The Villanova commit graduates as a career .256 hitter with 1,149 kills, 119 aces, 146 blocks, 568 digs and 35 assists.

SECOND TEAM

Aly Kirkhoff, Roncalli

Sr., 5-6, L

The LSU-bound Kirkhoff provided a steady presence back-row for the regional champion Royals, recording 371 receptions with only 19 errors. She totaled 306 digs (zero errors), 49 aces, 58 assists and seven kills over 85 sets. A four-year varsity letter-winner, Kirkhoff finished her career with 1,370 digs, 123 aces and 140 assists. The Royals won three sectional championships and two regional titles during her career.

Lindsey Mangelson, Hamilton Southeastern

Jr., 6-2, OH

Mangelson distinguished herself with the senior-driven, state champion Royals, hitting over .330 with 356 kills, 42 blocks, 125 digs and 13 assists. She posted double-digit kills in eight of her final 10 matches, with a season-high 19 in the regional championship vs. Harrison and 17 in the state finals vs. Castle. The first team all-state honoree is committed to Mississippi State.

Tiffany Snook, Hamilton Southeastern

Sr., 6-2, MH

With 14 kills and a .565 hitting percentage in the state championship match, Snook finished her career year with 213 kills and a hitting percentage above .422. The Memphis commit also totaled 63 blocks, 16 digs and a couple assists for the season. Snook will graduate with 520 kills, 46 aces, 214 total blocks, 91 digs and 19 aces over three seasons.

Alaleh Tolliver, North Central

Sr., 5-11, OH

The Butler commit scored career-highs in kills (404), hit% (.277), aces (56), blocks (31), digs (275) and assists (35) and with her individual success, came team success for the senior-heavy Panthers, whose 29-7 finish was their best since at least 2007. Tolliver finished her career with 1,017 kills, 125 aces, 83 blocks, 673 digs and 101 assists.

Kamryn Utley, Cathedral

Sr., 5-7, S

Utley was critical to Cathedral's success both offensively and defensively, totaling career-highs with 950 assists (9.7 per set) and 253 digs. She also put down 78 kills and 20 blocks (12 solo), and registered 50 aces. The Lehigh commit totaled 2,115 assists, 235 kills, 158 aces, 686 digs and 74 blocks during her four-year career, which was split between Cathedral and Lawrence North.

Ava Utterback, Plainfield

Sr., 5-11, OH

Limited to 25 sets as a junior (injury), Utterback was unstoppable as a senior. The six-rotation Louisville signee racked up 549 kills (.302 hit%) on 1,238 attempts, plus 46 aces, 70 total blocks (29 solo), 303 digs and 59 assists. She had six matches with over 25 kills this season, including a career-high 30 vs. Westfield, and finished her career with 1,263 kills.

THIRD TEAM

Reese Dunkle, Center Grove

Jr., 6-3, MH

Dunkle led the Trojans to their 10th 20-win season in the past 11 seasons and their 11th sectional title since 2012, scoring a career-best 307 kills (.294 hit%) with 42 aces, 117 total blocks (10 solo), 68 digs and 10 assists. The Northwestern commit enters her senior season with 692 kills, 53 aces, 353 blocks and 133 digs.

Breonna Goss, Hamilton Southeastern

Sr., 6-0, MH

The 6-0 Duke commit averaged a block per set — 88 total (24 solo) —  was a force on the attack, registering 161 kills (hit near .470), and was charged with only one error on a career-high 21 service attempts. A three-year varsity letter-winner, Goss picked up 350 kills, 224 blocks and 40 digs for her career.

Mya Grigsby, Greenfield-Central

Sr., 5-11, OH

Grigsby led the Cougars in kills (443) and digs (354), ranked second with 45 aces, third with 12 solo blocks (28 total) and tied for fourth with 14 assists. She did a bit of everything this season — and over the course of her career — and led the Cougars to their second 20-win season since 2020. Grigsby had 1,108 kills and 1,023 digs in four varsity seasons.

Lucy Kay, Fishers

Sr., 6-2, MB

The senior Bellmont commit led the Tigers with 357 kills and a .302 hitting percentage, plus 38 aces, 16 solo blocks (65 total), and 84 digs over 102 sets played. Kay, who was charged with only 13 errors on 119 receptions, finished her career with 629 kills, 52 aces, 163 blocks and 133 digs over three varsity seasons.

Leah Richmond, Lawrence North

Sr., 5-7, S

Richmond was critical to the offense both as a setter (career-high 833 assists) and an attacker, totaling 208 kills. She led the team with 94 total blocks (18 solo) and boasted the second-most digs with 234. The Western Michigan-bound standout concluded her four-year career with 2,412 assists, 227 blocks, 375 kills, 128 aces and 582 digs.

Lola Schumacher, Brebeuf Jesuit

Sr., 5-4, L-OH

Schumacher is one of the state's top liberos, but the Braves needed an attacker and she helped fill the void, totaling 150 kills, four solo blocks, 412 digs and 19 assists. The Wisconsin commit — who cleared 10 kills in seven matches, including a career-best 19 vs. Greenfield-Central — finished her career with 1,949 digs, 160 aces, 200 assists and 217 kills.

Molly Welborn, Scecina

Jr., 5-7, OH

Welborn was the driving force behind the Crusaders' attack, recording 567 kills with a .262 hit percentage. She had the two-time defending regional champions within a couple points of advancing to the 2A final (28 kills, 35 digs), and rounded out her season line with 62 aces, 17 blocks and 444 digs. Welborn is on pace to graduate with over 1,000 career kills and 1,000 career digs.
