Ida's Jessica Schrader is a scoring champ, just like her mother

Jessica Schrader joined some select company this season – including her mother.

Schrader averaged 17.0 points to lead Monroe County Region in scoring.

In the 50 years that the Monroe News has been tracking girls basketball statistics since 1974, she is just the third different Ida girl to win a scoring title.

Taylor Wegener led the Region in 2018-19 and 2019-20. The only other Blue Streak scoring leader was Amy Wilson in 1992 and 1993. Wilson is Schrader’s mother.

Only one girl averaged in double figures in rebounding – Jaeli Jones of Summerfield, who came in at 10.0 rebounds a game (251 in 25 games).

In addition to Jones claiming the rebounding lead, Summerfield also had a category leader in assists with Mia Miller averaging 4.3 assists per game, just ahead of her teammate Jones.
