ICYMI in Mets Land: Offense comes alive, but pitching falters Sunday in Queens

Here's what happened in Mets Land on Sunday in case you missed it...

• Carlos Carrasco only managed to get nine outs and allowed six runs (five earned) in the Mets' 8-7 loss to the St. Louis Cardinals 

• The veteran right-hander talked about his "ups and downs" during a tough start to his year

• The Mets battled back as Tommy Pham stayed red-hot with a game-tying two-run home run, and he's confident the team will turn things around

• However, manager Buck Showalter made a curious bullpen call in the eighth and ninth that led to a game-winning homer for St. Louis

• On a positive note, Pete Alonso surprised everybody by coming back off the IL after just 10 days and said he is at "100 percent everything"

• However, that meant Mark Vientos was sent to Triple-A Syracuse. Showalter talked about the youngster's time with the club and added "we'll see him again"

• Left-hander Jose Quintana was sharp in his second rehab start with Low-A St. Lucie

• Down on the farm, Kevin Parada smacked his fifth dinger for High-A Brooklyn
