Elyse Saugstad Can't Find the Bottom

The weather had itself a week, huh? Tahoe at Palisades had too much snow to open and New Zealand's Mt. Hutt got so much snow last week, that it was able to open for a day of skiing and riding. The rub? Well, it's dead-on summer down under, meaning ski blokes traded chubbies for powder bibs and flip-flops for ski boots on one of the more bizarre Global Weirding phenomena this year.

Still, we're not sure anyone had as good of a week as Elyse Saugstad (not even her husband, Cody Townsend). Not convinced, check out this clip from Hokkaido. California.

Chelsea Handler Continues Minimalist Ski Birthday Tradition

Comedy Queen and skiing's #1 celebrity advocate Chelsea Handler has always known that when it comes to age, more means less. In what has become quite the birthday tradition, Handler rang in her 48th birthday last week in the near-buff, rocking a Canadian and American flag bikini on the slopes at Whistler Blackcomb. While she admittedly skipped the nudity of years past, the American comic still made sure to celebrate with a margarita in one hand and a joint in the other, because...well..tradition. We salute you and your continued pursuit of exposure, Queen Handler.

Well, Tandem Cross-Country Skiing Looks....Miserable?

Jessie Diggins may have made ski history this week by becoming the first American to win a World Championship medal in Nordic skiing, but far away from the course in Slovenia, two Minnesotans embarked on one of the most questionable ski missions of all time. Apparently out of their own free will, Chris Parr and Joe Dubay decided to race the 32mile Birkiebeiner race on a pair of tandem cross-country skis. What could possibly go wrong? These gluttons for punishment seemed to fair just fine in this awkward snow-sliding partner dance, finishing the race with only a handful of bruises to show for it.
