Ian Jackson makes USA U19 team after tryouts

North Carolina commit Ian Jackson will represent Team USA in Debrecen, Hungary for the  FIBA U19 Men’s World Cup in a few days.

After making the initial roster cut from 32 to 18, Jackson officially earned his spot after another round of cuts. He was one of 12 players to make the roster and the only Tar Heel to do so.

The 6-foot-4, 185-pound Jackson impressed throughout the practices, earning his spot. He also earned a spot last year on the U17 World Cup team, averaging just over 11 points in the event.

Jackson is one of the best players in the 2024 class, committing to North Carolina back in January of 2023.

He’s currently ranked No. 5 nationally, the No. 2 shooting guard and No. 1 player in the state of New York per the 247Sports recruiting rankings. He’s part of a 2024 class that has three commitments for UNC and is the No. 1 class as it stands right now.
