Chris Paul fined $35,000 for bumping into official, ejection in Game 1 against Warriors
Houston Rockets guard Chris Paul has been fined $35,000 for “aggressively confronting and recklessly making contact with a game official” during Game 1 of their Western Conference semifinals series against the Golden State Warriors on Sunday, the league announced on Monday.

Paul was ejected with just 4.4 seconds left in the game Houston’s 104-100 loss at Oracle Arena at the end of a wild sequence in which James Harden nearly tied the game.
Harden attempted one of his trademark step-back 3-pointers over Warriors forward Draymond Green from the top of the key, which would have tied the game, but was off the mark. Paul picked up the rebound and attempted to pass it out to Eric Gordon on the sidelines, though the ball was tipped and Gordon was out of bounds when gained possession.
Paul then bumped into the official who made the out-of-bounds call, which resulted in his second technical foul of the night and an automatic ejection.
Paul finished with 17 points, four assists and three rebounds, having shot 5-of-9 from the field.
Game 2 of their series will take place on Tuesday night in Oakland.
