Houston Astros announce Hooks minor league roster for 2024 season

The Houston Astros announced their minor league roster for all four minor league affiliates on Sunday.

Astros No. 1 prospect Jacob Melton will start the season with the Hooks after hitting .250 with five home runs and 13 RBI for Double-A Corpus Christi in 13 games last season.

Joe Thon will return for his second season as the manager of the Hooks, along with pitching coach Sean Buchanan; hitting coach Bobby Bell; development coach Vincent Blue; strength coach Joe Powell; Dietitian Kara Beitler; mental health coach D'Jenne Egharevba and trainer Jennifer Bardales.

Opening Day for the Hooks is April 5 against the Midland RockHounds at Whataburger Field.
