How Houma- and Thibodaux-area tennis players did in LHSAA boys' doubles tournament

Vandebilt Catholic's Ashton Bollom and Andrew Pitre were the top Houma- and Thibodaux-area tennis players in boys' doubles in the LHSAA tournament, as they qualified for the Division II semifinals, the only local players to make it that far.

Here's how every local boys' double pairing did:

Benjamin Bach and Cruz Blanchard, Houma Christian School

Bach and Blanchard lost in the first round of the Division IV tournament to Vermillion Catholic's Nicholas Cope and William Romero, 6-4 and 6-2.

Logan Bardarson and Cohen Danos, Houma Christian

Bardarson and Danos fell in the first round of the Division IV tournament to Colton Cross and Ben Bienvenu of St. Mary's, 6-2 and 7-6.

Andrew Baughman and Reece Richard, Vandebilt Catholic High School

Baughman and Richard opened the Division II tournament with a win over DeRidder's Kamble Luttrell and Jacob Cobb in the first round, 6-4 and 7-5, before losing to Jake Dycus and Keith Johnson of Neville in the second round, 6-1 and 7-5.

Brady Bergeron and Kaspian Thomas, H.L. Bourgeois High School

Bergeron and Thomas lost in the first round of the Division I tournament to Stephan Champney and Charles DuBos of Catholic-Baton Rouge, losing both sets 6-1.

Boys' Singles: How Houma- and Thibodaux-area tennis players fared in LHSAA boys' singles tournament

Ashton Bollom and Andrew Pitre, Vandebilt Catholic

Bollom and Pitre began their Division II tournament run with a win over Mason Bruneau and Peter Schissel of Holy Cross in the first round, 6-2 and 6-0. In the second round, they defeated West Ouachita's Tyler Thompson and Jessie Parker, 6-2 and 6-4, to advance to the quarterfinals. Against Julien LeBlanc and Caleb Kidder of Teurlings Catholic in the quarterfinals, Bollom and Pitre won again, 6-4 and 8-6. Their run ended against Neville's Benton Anzalone and Christian Williams, losing both semifinal sets 6-1.

Jackson Bollom and Trenton Townsen, Vandebilt Catholic

Bollom and Townsen beat Eunice's John Sattler and Layton Sittig in the first round of the Division II tournament, 6-4 and 7-5. They lost in the second round to Benton Anzalone and Christian Williams of Neville, 6-0 and 6-2.

Harold Braud and Gavin Poynter, Thibodaux High School

Braud and Poynter lost their first round match in the Division I tournament to Catholic-Baton Rouge's Henry Hargrave and Conrad Oliver, 6-0 and 6-1.

Luke Cedotal and Lincoln Naquin, Assumption High School

Cedotal and Naquin lost in straight sets in their Division II first round match to Teurlings Catholic's Julien LeBlanc and Caleb Kidder, 6-0 and 6-0.

Alex Hildenbrand and Carson Verret, E.D. White Catholic High School

Hildenbrand and Verret fell in the first round of the Division III tournament, losing in straight sets to Calvary Baptist's Mason Batts and Bryce Colvin, 7-5 and 6-3.

Grayson Hildenbrand and Jack Konur, E.D. White

Hildenbrand and Konur lost in the first round of the Division III tournament to Noah Beamon and Duke Stein of University Lab, 6-0 and 6-3.

Luke Story and Gabe Gautreaux, South Terrebonne High School

Story and Gautreaux opened the Division II tournament with a win over Lakeshore's Austin Veilette and Samuel Willie, 6-1 and 6-4, in the first round. They lost in the second round to Benton Anzalone and Christian Williams of Neville, losing both sets 6-0.
