Here are the nominees for the State Journal-Register's athlete of the week.

Connor Brown, Calvary, boys basketball
The senior guard accumulated 25 points to record a 69-47 MSM Conference victory over Pawnee, and Calvary ran the table to win the MSM Conference with an 8-0 record. Brown had 16 points at the half and ended with three 3-pointers.
Adi Fraase, Pleasant Plains, girls basketball
The senior guard posted 11 points and the Cardinals knocked off Petersburg PORTA/A-C Central 38-34 in the Class 2A Riverton Regional final on Thursday.
Carter Hunley, Auburn, boys basketball
The junior guard scored all of his 16 points in the second half to carry the Trojans to a 48-40 Sangamo Conference victory over Williamsville and a share of the league title. Auburn led just 21-20 at halftime until Hunley whipped up seven points in the third quarter to extend the margin 34-28 entering the fourth. He totaled four 3s, including three in the final period.

The senior standout dispatched Coal City’s Brody Widlowski with a 6-1 decision to win the 1A title at 126 pounds. It was his third straight state title.
Cooper Schallenberg, Pleasant Plains, boys basketball
The junior guard converted two 3s and shot 9 of 10 from the free throw line en route to a 48-38 Sangamo Conference victory over Athens and a share of the league title on Friday. He delivered a key 3-pointer and shot 6-for-6 from the free throw line in the third to help gain a 36-30 advantage.

Xavier Try, Chatham Glenwood, boys swimming and diving
The senior finished third in the 50-yard freestyle at the Edwardsville Sectional and beat the state qualifying time with a personal-best in 21.71 seconds.
Amari Vickery, Gillespie, girls basketball
The freshman guard poured in 16 points and Gillespie notched its first regional title since 2012 in a 59-45 victory over Hillsboro in the Class 2A North Mac Regional final on Friday.
Amir Womack, Southeast, boys swimming and diving
The senior won the 1-meter dive at the Champaign Centennial Sectional with 398.65 points and improved on his school record of 398.00 that he set two weeks ago at the Central State Eight Conference meet.
