Highlights: This LeBron James-Lonzo Ball thing is off to a good start

It’s rare that a preseason basketball game garners this kind of attention.

But when Lonzo Ball suits up next to LeBron James for the first time, and the Los Angeles Lakers face the Golden State Warriors, there’s plenty of opportunity for excitement.

Playing in front of a Las Vegas crowd, the Lakers and Warriors did not disappoint.

It didn’t take long for Ball and James to put their first highlight together.

Later in the second quarter, James showed off the rewards of all his work in the weight room.

Meanwhile, Kevin Durant gave James a welcome to the west side and painful reminder of the last two NBA Finals series.

But James got the last laugh at the second-quarter buzzer.

And that was all in the first half.

In case the final score is of consequence to you, the Lakers won 123-113.

We’re not quite sure how good the new-look Lakers will be this season. But it does look a near certainty that they won’t fail to entertain.
