Highlights: Klay Thompson catches fire for 42 points with 12 made 3-pointers vs. Rockets

Without Steph Curry, Andrew Wiggins and Draymond Green, Klay Thompson took charge of the Golden State Warriors offense on Friday night against the Houston Rockets.

The veteran sharpshooter caught fire to match his game-high with 42 points on 12-of-19 shooting from the floor. All of Thompson’s field goals came from beyond the arc, hitting 12 triples against the Rockets. Thompson added seven boards and an assist in 36 minutes during Golden State’s home win over Houston.

Thompson now has three separate games with 12 or more made triples, passing his teammate Steph Curry with two games of 12 or more made 3-pointers.

Thompson’s performance against the Rockets marked his second game with 12 made 3-pointers this season. Thompson is the only player in NBA history to have two games with 12 made 3-pointers in the same season. Thompson’s previous outburst from long distance came against the Oklahoma City Thunder in early Feb. Thompson has recorded four games with double figure made 3-pointers.
